About
Me
My name is Melissa. I’m a 20-something wife and mother to three little boys. Wife and mother – two words that define what I am, but don’t even come close to touching on who I am. Since marrying and having kids, I’ve forgotten how to define myself. This website is my journey into rediscovering the person I used to be before I started to only define myself in terms of the relationships I have with others.
I love to travel, love learning new languages, love shopping, photography, graphics design, cooking and curling up in my bed or in a warm bath with a book. Many of these things had to take a backseat once I became a mother, but now that my oldest is transforming into a real little person and my youngest into a toddler, I’ve been able to find the time to bring back into my life many of the things I used to love.
Since being pregnant for nearly three years straight, I put on a lot of weight. Every time I’d lose 5 pounds, I’d end up regaining it the following week. I love to cook and bake and always had a pantry stocked with anything and everything I needed to make whatever cake, cookie or muffin I desired. At the beginning of 2013, I decided to put my foot down and do something about my weight. I’ve since adopted the Paleo lifestyle and have had major success. I effortlessly shed 20 pounds in the first month and another 20 pounds in the second and am continuing the journey to lose an additional 15 pounds and to become more physically fit in the process. I still love to cook, but I’ve now refocused my cooking efforts into making healthy meals for my family rather than the tasty treats that did nothing but satisfy endless cravings and make me fat.
Website
This website is my place to moan about what’s bothering me, share photos of my kids, post recipes, track my weight loss and talk about anything and everything that I find interesting.
This blog is powered by WordPress and the Pinboard theme. I also use Instagrabber to import my Instagram photos alongside my normal photos and the Really Simple Twitter Feed plugin to import my latest tweets.
