Twelve Months
This was a huge month for Andrew. Just a day after turning one, he took his first wobbly steps. We knew it was going to be soon, as he’d really begin standing on his own for longer and longer periods of time and would walk around the table from chair to chair, barely holding on for support. Once he realised he could do it on his own, he was so excited and usually ended up falling over because of the excitement!
This month also brought about a huge cross-country move from Massachusetts to Louisiana. This was going to be the first time we’d be out on our own as a family and we had no idea how things were going to be. We were pleasantly surprised at how easy the transition was and how much Andrew loved the new place. He’s never napped so well in his life as he does in his new room!

Thirteen Months
About halfway through this month, Andrew really became confident in his walking abilities and now chooses to walk more than crawl. This change seemed to happen overnight and now that he’s been doing it more and more, he’s beginning to pick up speed. It won’t be long till he’s running all over the place.

Fourteen Months
Fourteen months already. I can’t believe in another month he’ll be having another well-baby checkup. It doesn’t seem like his first birthday was two months ago. This year is definitely flying by fast! This month, Andrew learned to shake his head no when we say “no”. I’m working on the yes part now and he gets it sometimes, but it’s not as solid as the no. Also, he’s finally said a word other than mama and dada. Just as I was beginning to think he’d be one of those kids that went from saying nothing to blurting out full sentences, he’s shown us that he can now say “baby”. At first I thought he was just saying sounds repetitively as he usually does, but now if we say “baby” to him, he’ll say it right back. It’s still hard to distinguish between his Bs and Vs so sometimes it comes out sounding like “vavy”, but it’s still so cute!

Fifteen Months
For the first time since we moved to Louisiana, Andrew saw his new doctor for a well-baby checkup. At 15 months, he is weighing a little under 22.5 pounds and is 32 inches long – just over 2 pounds and 2 inches bigger since his 12-month checkup. He still falls around the 25th percentile for weight and 75th for height. This month, Andrew will be making a trip up to Mass. to visit with his grandparents and great grandparents while I deliver his brother. As much as we’re going to miss having him around, Ryan and I will be needing all the help we can get during this hectic time!
